I stumbled upon it over 13 years ago! It truly is a dream job to work with people and for them to allow me to create a beautiful portrait of their family or be there on their wedding day. There are many late nights within my life with this career but so many rewarding days too. I truly feel that God lead me to this career to touch lives and bring happiness to others through my work. I am passionate about giving my clients only the best! I am precise and very detail oriented when photographing and editing and I truly look at every image or video I create as a work of art and strive to make everything absolutely perfect.

Hi, I'm LAUREN WATERHOUSE!
Father's family owned back in 1950's where they ran "The Candy Company". I love coming home to where my Grandmother once lived (My Mom's Mom)- the house I currently live in and love so much. It's a little small for my family of five but no other home has ever felt as special as this place before. Along the wall in my home is my collection of old portraits of all of my ancestors. I am the collector of all things old in my family and I love keeping these photos alive and well. To think that when we leave this earth that the only thing that will remain will be a memory of us and perhaps photos and videos too-- it really puts things into perspective of how important these things are and how much they really should be cherished.
I began taking art classes at age 7 and went onto UNC-Greensboro where I majored in Interior Architecture and eventually settled in the Raleigh/Durham area. Once I had children of my own, I really started missing my family and the mountains I once called home. By this point, I had picked up Wedding Photography as a part-time job and I started getting more and more requests to photograph back near my hometown. Eventually, we made the big move back North Wilkesboro. I still love living here and don't ever want to move. However, I absolutely LOVE to travel and take on as many destination weddings that I can throughout the year! I love going on new adventures and photographing at different places around the world. I have photographed weddings all over including Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Virginia, Tennessee, South Carolina and I was lucky enough to travel twice to the Bahamas for weddings!

My three sweet kids mean more than anything in the world to me! My Brinley, Brice and Elle. I always knew I wanted to be a Mom, more than anything else in the world. My favorite thing about my career is that is has given me the flexibility to arrange my schedule to meet their needs. Although they always think I work wayyyy too much (which I usually am editing or doing something at home!) I hope that they one day understand that this passion of mine also gave me the ability to do more things with them.

I choose to live in a very modest home in my small town so that it gives me the financial freedom to travel and go as a please! I absolutely love traveling all over whether it be for photographing weddings, going to the beach or just for fun with friends/family! My favorite place to travel to is New York City. I dreamed of living there when I was growing up but it just never worked out in my favor. I love the ability to just walk out onto the street and be among such a diverse group of people, cultures and I absolutely love all of the different shopping, food and nightlife options!
I ALWAYS TAKE MY FAMILY TO MYRTLE BEACH EACH YEAR! I DO LOTS OF FAMILY BEACH PORTRAIT SESSIONS THERE FOR MY CLIENTS.
