WHAT TO EXPECT
1. Let's Chat
If you are reading this page then you've already completed the first step! We have tried to make the booking process as easy as we can. We also know that our clients are extremely busy individuals and families so we have tried to put everything together in one spot and on one page to make the booking process as simple as we can! If you can't seem to find the answer to your question on here please reach out! We are here to help you 100%!
2. Choose Your Session
We have three different types of sessions to choose from and they are all listed on this page! Our pricing is based on how much time we are photographing for your session as well as how many images you are set to receive. For solo sessions or sessions that involve young children, we highly recommend booking shorter sessions with us. If you are looking for a photo session for extended family members - we may need a lot more time to get through to everyone!
3. Reserve Your Date
For Outdoor Sessions- We highly recommend sticking to neutral, earth tone and muted pastel colors for your session. Beige, cream, slate blue and soft greens! If you are trying to coordinate with your family we definitely recommend NOT to match. It is much better to have more of a coordinated color scheme versus everyone wearing the same colored shirt. Our most helpful hint is to typically give family members 2-3 options when it comes to colors so that each person can feel like they can wear what they want to but you all can still look coordinated together.
For Studio Sessions- Neutral colors are in right now and we always love a beautiful, classic look when it comes to studio portraits. Try to stay away from anything with busy patterns, bright colors and trendy outfits that may look outdated in a few years.
For Newborn Sessions - We provide EVERYTHING for these sessions! We have collected over 10+ years worth of newborn items so you don't need to bring anything for your little one.
Ask about our client closet! We have tons of maternity dresses, dresses for women/teens/girls, and sitter session outfits.
5. Wardrobe
Now for the fun part and possibly the most stressful part! Don't worry though - we are here to help and want to make this as enjoyable as we can for you and less stressful!
6. Session time!
After your session, we will take your images, sort through to select the best ones and then do all of your retouching needs including skin smoothing, slight wrinkle reduction, take out flyaway hairs, etc. Our full editing is included in your price. If there are any other special requests above and beyond our normal editing, we may charge a small fee to complete your request.
7. Online Gallery
Once your date is reserved, we'll connect to start chatting about possible locations for your session. We generally recommend choosing one location and if it's a place you haven't been before, it might be helpful to visit during the time our session will take place.
That way you have an idea of the light, crowds, closing time, etc! If you're not sure about where you would like to take your photos but you have a general idea of the look you would like, just let us know because we would be happy to recommend a few locations based on your aesthetic!
After you have selected what type of session you want - next is reserving your date and paying your non-refundable retainer fee. This will hold your date on our calendar and will not allow anyone else to book it.
4. Location
After your gallery has been sent to you, it is time that you download and use your images however you'd like! Many of our clients use them to post online and to share digitally - others choose to print images on their own. We do offer print, canvas and frame options if you'd like to use as as well!
8. Download Images!
This is an add-on option that can be added on at any point in time. If you have a favorite image that you would like to see transitioned into more of a painted portrait look and feel - you are able to upgrade any edited image with us into a Fine Art Image for an additional $125 per image. Lauren will take the image and digitally paint it using tools and programs taking it to another level. Many of the images on our website have been enhanced and digitally painted portraits and we would be happy to help you through this process.
